The kid was a 7th round pick who was probably slotted to play nothing but special teams this year. Elevated into a WR4 role in week 9 after Jackson left and Atwell disappointed and then got hurt.

Van Jefferson went from 19 catches (and a lot of criticism) as a rookie to 50 this year and a solid WR3. Josh Reynolds- 11 catches as a rookie and then 102 over his next three years as a Ram.

I'm not sure why the development of Skowronek in years 2 and 3 would be dismissed.
