It looks like there is also a Prorated Bonus in Donald's contract

February 15, 2022 09:38AM
I would wonder if AD would have to pay the signing bonus back if he retired now.

No matter how much you have it would be hard to give 21.5 million back, and not make another 55 million that is on the table.

The bonus added to those sport trac numbers get to the $26,750,000 for 2022, $23,500,000 for 2023 and $26,250,000 for 2024

Current Contract (Extension, signed 2018)
Year Age Base Salary Prorated Bonus Roster Bonus Cap

2022 31 $9,250,000 $12,500,000 $5,000,000 $26,750,000

2023 32 $14,000,000 $4,500,000 $5,000,000 $23,500,000

2024 33 $16,750,000 $4,500,000 $5,000,000 $26,250,000

Aaron Donald converted $18 million of his 2021 salary into a bonus to create $13.5 million in cap space. His cap number will increase by $4.5 million in the remaining three years of his contract.
