The Rams weren't going to make the playoffs with Goff. SO what are they supposed to do when a Matt Stafford becomes available? And they get him for a song AND get rid of Goff.
Fortunate? Yes. Mortgaged their future? The last time the Rams picked in the first round was Goff... so NOW they are mortgaging their future? Its obviously system that works for the Rams. They aren't deflating footballs or taping other teams illegally... they aren't using bounties and they aren't cheating the cap like the niners did in their heyday with Haley, etc...
