Mama, what has kept you so loyal to this team? Were you maybe a fan before they came to St. Louis?
No, I was not a fan of football or sports of any kind really until SB34. I lived in Kansas before moving to St Louis in 1993 so I'm not from here. I was a divorced working mom of 2 kids and had no interest in sports or anything other than work and my family for a long time. When SB34 came along, I'd heard the team from St Louis was in it and that was about the extent of what I knew. I didn't even understand the game all that well. But I thought "hey... what if they win?" I knew if they did, that it was a pretty big deal. So I watched the game, not really knowing anything about the players or anything else except they were from MY city. When they won, I took my kids out of school and we went to the victory parade downtown (absolutely miserable it was so cold). I bought a Kurt Warner autographed helmet and jersey a couple of weeks later without even really knowing why except a friend said it was a good thing to do. Even after the Super Bowl, I really didn't follow the Rams closely until I met and married RAMbeau in 2002. He's the one who loved football and I just started watching with him and asking him a zillion questions about the game. We started going to Rams games regularly and after a couple of years, we became season ticket holders. Rams football, the NFL and even college football became a huge part of our lives, daily conversation and television viewing. Before I knew it, I was hooked, maybe even more than RAMbeau. I found The Herd maybe 20 years ago and began participating and the rest just kinda happened. I've been a Rams fan ever since.
