If either coordinator is hired away, McVay will simply plug in another gem.

And O’Connell leaves me wondering just how much impact he really has on this O. I sense that it’s really McVay’s O and McVay is the play caller. I wonder if O’Connell is merely a glorified QB coach and takes care of details on O matters for McVay. Remember when LaFleur left to be a legit OC with Titans so he could ‘prove himself’? Maybe O’Connell needs to do the same thing.
Frankly, if I were a GM I wouldn’t be too anxious to hire either of them as my HC just yet.
