Intro and view from stands last night....

January 24, 2022 01:55AM
I have been registered here since like 2009 which is when the board moved to a new server I think. I was registered at the old one as well. I do not post much, as I don't know what all I have to offer, but love reading the reports, news, breakdowns of things, etc.

I have been a Rams fan since I was in about 3rd grade and I saw my first game (I lived in the middle east for all of elementary school). I really got on board in 1989 as I started playing football. I first followed the Rams because, my brother (who is a super bandwagoner that I didn't know at the time) loved the 9ers (because they were good of course). Stayed with them ever since, even through the awful 90's.

I live in Tampa now, and was able to get tickets to the game last night. I took my son, his friend, and a friend of mine (two of them are bucs fans), but my son and I wore Rams gear. Had good seats, 2nd level, around the 35 on the south end zone.

A couple things I noticed in warmups, the Rams warm up very differently than the Bucs. At no time did the Bucs do anything as a whole team, but the Rams all came out at some point lined up, did some stretches, and warmup all together and coordinated. It was interesting to watch as there was no one leading, but everyone knew the routine, and did it in sync. I think it might be part of why our training staff gets a lot of praise for keeping people healthy and playing. It just felt and looked a lot different than anything I have ever seen at an NFL game.

The game was amazing to be at. I have been at many games over my life (a lot of cowboys unfortunately as I lived in Dallas for years), and never have I been to a close game that I cared about. They are always been blowouts (many times in the wrong direction).

Watching them in person, it is funny how easy it all looks. When you see Stafford or Brady throw the ball, it never seems like it is going to be caught, but then it does, just a function of limited field of view I guess, but it sure is pretty when it works.

It was great yelling COOOOOOP all game (except for the fumble) and the fans around me were all good sports. I had to take my fair share of crap when the Bucs tied it up.

Speaking of that, when that snap went by Stafford, I am glad there was no camera on me or it might have turned into a meme like the crying cowboy fans! I didn't actually cry, but I am sure my slumped over middle aged man face was equally sad.

I have to run to work, but wanted to add a couple thoughts later.
