I think it's a bigger picture thing too. There is a stigma about the Rams that I think deep down, Rams fans are a little ashamed of. The Rams are seen as soft and chokers by everyone else and it's hard to live with that as a fan. The harder you try and fight it or defend them, the deeper it gets embedded.
Then, just when you think the latest losing streak will be over, all within one game the Rams go from great to embarrassing. Again. Start strong, can't finish. The endless cycle of being a Rams fan. This game was more than just a loss. It was all the old wounds being re-opened. Made all the worse by so many fans seemingly not caring.
Which, is understandable in a way. But losing to the 49ers in a game that should have been won and then suffering that loss with the enemy in our own venue. I don't feel unjustified in taking it more than just any old game.
