If you’re a season ticket holder, it does make a difference. That’s a commitment. We had season tix McVay’s first season and it was like having 8 Sundays in fall wherein all you can do is go to and enjoy the game. Baseball isn’t the extravaganza football is. 3 and half hours. Light traffic at 10:00PM for the drive home and you’re done. It’s not a day long commitment to go to a baseball game.
In the mid-90s I lived in Half Moon Bay and Saratoga and the traffic was awful then. I guess you take a helicopter everywhere you go? Of course traffic was a reason the Niners play in SC.
Plus, it’s expensive. But the big reason I haven’t renewed season tix is because I work and I need my weekends to recoup from the five days of grind. If I were retired, I’d be back on Sundays. But with the stress of driving down and back and taking alternate paths to the venue, it’s easier to watch on my big screen on sports mode.
Local Forty Niner fans? One game! Not an 8 game, 2 months worth of Sundays commitment. One game!
And they’re all disgusting bandwagoners too. Look up Levi’s Studium searching google images from around 2015. Empty!!!
But go to a super bowl and the Rice jersey get a good dusting off.
I swear the only reason they come is so they can vent their hatred of evil LA.
What other city elicits chants of Beat Boston, or Beat San Francisco or Beat Dallas?
What? You’ve never heard those chants before? Yeah! Because they don’t exist.
But Los Angeles is the country’s favorite strawman to burn in ephagy. Who know what the psychological cause of that cathartic release is, but I guess I’m just making excuses. (Shrug)
