So, you’re not saying LA doesn’t have a rabid fan base (you appear to be acknowledging the existence of LA Raider fans in 2022). You’re just saying it’s not a rabid Rams’ fan base.
But, that acknowledgement destroys some of your other assumptions: LA fans show no passion, for example, compared to SF Giant fans.
So, there were rabid fans that were Rams fans (I distinctly recall that as a kid so I’m not going to lie to my own eyes) and there are rabid LA based Raider fans today. Okay. So, the problem is not LA being a place without rabid fans, it’s just that they aren’t the fans of the Rams. Okay.
So? How did it get this way? Maybe due to the “excuses”. A void was left. Fans in LA (who feel as connect to Anaheim as San Franciscans feel to Sacramento) who craved football and got the Raiders. The Raiders won a super bowl. Something the LA Rams never did.
Question: who do you think Angelinos are? A bunch of actors? People too busy getting their nails done?
Here’s a funny scene. I went to the Jacksonville game. A poor Jaguars’ fan—in his early to mid 20s— was ragging hard on his team. Most of his ragging was directed at Urban Meyer.
But with about 4 minutes left in the game and the Rams up 37-7, Rams fans were leaving the stadium. The poor Jaguars’ fan was chiding his team even harder: look! Their own fans are leaving early and they’re blowing us out! That’s how bad you are!! I had to laugh. I shook his hand after the game and encouraged him.
Now, you can come back and say, there you go! No passion! LA fans leaving early.
Well, considering if you park at Sofi and it takes an hour to get out of the parking lot!!! let’s see you suffer through that!!!!!!! Nothing was going to happen in the last 4 minutes. Those fans were not just trying to get out before the one hour wait to get out to Prairie Street. They were also mentally preparing themselves to drive home on the 405.
You probably never drive down to LA? Be honest. You don’t. And I don’t blame you. It’s traffic hell. But that’s just an excuse.
But all sorts of 49ers fans did (will be your retort). Well, they also got to wait in the parking lot of an hour after the game. Welcome to Sofi!!
That’s how you keep Niner fans out of Sofi. Let them park in stadium lots.
