I feel like there is just not enough being talked about the loss of Ernest Jones.
During our 3 game skid, we got killed by the niners (and others) across the middle and by TE's. McVay elevated Ernest Jones to the starter for the Jag's game and that started our winning streak and our defense playing solid. I started to become confident our defense was now playoff worthy.
It seems like many are not too concerned and are attributing the defensive success more to Von Miller is starting to gel, etc...
While that may be true, our problem on defense for a couple years now has been our weakness at LB. And we run a defense where we expect the D'Line somehow to stop the run and slow Reeder to be the backup if they don't, with safeties dropping in to help once they identify a run. (smh).
I am concerned we will get chewed up across the middle again going forward.
