Sony Michel has really been put to the test. He's carried the RB load on his shoulders. Akers carrying the ball a half dozen times or so would help keep Sony more fresh. And it also allows the Rams to run some different pass plays that Sony doesn't do very well.

While there's no way Akers can be in the emerging star form that he was to end last year, I'm hoping he simply provides some hard, physical running a few times. Besides: what if Michel got hurt? Then what? I'd rather have Akers ready to go than Funk.
