I don't think it's apples to apples.
Goff simply had a much lower ceiling than Stafford for a couple of reasons. First because Stafford has the superior arm. Second because he's played twice as much football. And perhaps Stafford processes things faster (at least that's what the ex NFL QBs say in the media).
I told think I've heard a single ex GM or ex player ever say that Goff was as good as Stafford by ANY standard whatever.
The point is that Stafford is our QB. This isn't Fantasy Football where we can change line-ups at will.
Further, if you were the opposite team, who would you rather face in a must win game? Goff? Or Stafford with his 41 game winning drives and sometimes unearthly throws from all different platforms and arm angles. Sometimes merely the velocity of the ball makes all the difference because the ball gets there a half-tenth faster than other QBs. I've seen that too many times to catalogue from Stafford this year.
Anyway neither I nor anyone else I can recall on this board makes Stafford the equivalent of Rogers or Brady. But I do think he's pretty much the equivalent of Favre. It's only that this is the first good team that Stafford has played on in the Pros.
