As a Rams fan, I admittedly wanted more Kurt Warner & Rams story lines, whereas the majority of the audience was most likely more interested in the Hallmark type. Additionally, it was about Kurt Warner, not the Rams per say and nothing closer in our lives than our families. NOt even a mention why Kurt Warner signs every autograph with Johns 3:16.
That being said, it was a "American Underdog" story which seems to me, to focus on the profession and how he overcome all odds in the football field and teammates like Faulk, Ike, Torry, Pace, et al and was really surprised that nothing about controversial ownership and management at the time of Frontiere & Shaw and would have enjoyed how close the game was when Fisher, McNair & George had a chance to tie the game before coming up a yard short, which was the culmination of his amazing story.
Many sports themed movies are about the sport and teams success even when its about a player like Ernie Davis, Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Jake Lamotta, James Braddock, even Seabiscuit, Invictus, Remember the Titans, Miracle (US hockey), and Breaking Away to just name a few culminated to the big finale of the sport in a championship focus that was built throughout the movie.
Oh well, I wanted more about Rams only championship even though the movie was a personal interest piece about some athlete and his incredibly supportive wife that was the wind beneath his wings and the reason for all his success. Needless to say, there would be no Rams Super Bowl or Greatest show on turf if not for a divorced military mother of two who won employee of the month for her tight jeans at Wild E Coyotes !
