But you act as if the team winning the coin toss has nothing to do but kick a FG from the 1 yard line. Like it's an automatic win. The team losing the coin toss has an opportunity to defend 75 yards of field. If they can't do that, then the defensive part of their team is letting them down. You want to win, you're going to have to play some defense. I see nothing unfair about that.
Defense is already secondary to offense in today's NFL and going to an NCAA format would marginalize it even more in overtime. It's not just about offense. Special teams and defense should be a part a team's opportunity to win. I think the NFL's compromise to sudden death was well done.
The only reason you think it was unfair last night is because the Chargers defense let you down. I doubt very seriously if you'd have even started this thread if the Chargers had won the game.
