Another terrific review, Alyo, and a great read. Thanks for posting.
Just a couple of things I can’t resist adding.
Yeah, our ‘newbies’ are now contributing nicely. OBJ is playing almost as if he had been here in camp. Now 3 TD’s in 3 games and a terror to defend all game long. Miller started more slowly but is now first rate defending the edge (perfect against QB’s like Murray and Wilson) but is providing good run D and good pressure on QB’s. I had had my reservations about that Miller trade but now I’m coming around, especially if Miller continues on his current upward trajectory. The future is now kinda thing?
The combo of AD, Gaines, ARob, Floyd, Miller, and the Jones kid are a real handful for opposing OL’s to run on OR pass protect against. Bodes well for a playoff run.
Some of us were claiming that Rams needed to only fix 3 things, really, in order to be successful. Namely:
1. Stop with the danged turnovers.
2. Stick with the run enough to keep D’s honest and control TOP.
3. Allow this D to play more aggressively and make QB’s more uncomfortable.
Well, last 2 games the Rams have done all 3 of the above and the results speak for themselves. Even criminally short handed against the Cards. Better late than never, I guess.
