So, what's your point? You think McVay should just keep doing what he's been doing? How's that been looking lately? Has the offense ever approached what it was with Gurley? Do you think they have a RB to replace Gurley? Do you think they run it enough? Someone doesn't have to be an NFL coach to know when something isn't working.
I'm not saying McVay is perfect. I am saying that these simplistic proclamations and slams fail to recognize 1) The strengths and weaknesses of the roster as it is today 2) The continuing development of schemes on both sides of the ball which change weekly and seek to expand answers to problems the opponent presents 3) Drops, penalties, missed tackles, missed assignments, and Stafford misfires are hardly insignificant to whether or not they win a game. If he ranted about these things...I'd be more willing to let this slide. As it is, some of the blame belongs to the players. Acknowledge that, and I would accept the other criticisms without much push back.
