You admit there is too much talent, our last HC had Snead at the helm as well. The 7-9 culture was permanent.
So you have to admit that McVay improved the culture and made the talent get way much better.
Sure you could say Snead was always the talent maker, but under Fisher he either was not as good or not in control, either way McVay either made him better or freed him up and so he needs to get some credit.
The fact that being 7-3 is an outrage is also credit to the complete turn around McVay brought to our team. I love that we can be so unhappy that we are 7-3 when we used to finish 7-9 all the time.
He is young and has growing to do, but he is also very talented, and perhaps one of the strengths he has as well is finding coaches. He may have struck out a bit but he has also found so many great coaches that did not last very long without getting promoted.
If we did fire him, who would we get? there are many parts to coaching, and as much as he has gotten out coached on game day by other great coaches I love that he has also done well on the season coaching part, building a team and a good culture.
