Stafford does not have the lightening (2 frame) release of Dan Marino but Marino has come to mind watching Stafford as a Ram.
Stafford does have the arm to put the ball anywhere downfield for chunk plays on a regular basis. His manipulation of the defense is something to behold. The way the offense is lining up with empty sets 21% of the time is reminiscent of Marino. The Rams lead the NFL in empty sets! (Next Gen is reporting the Rams line up in shotgun 52% of the time which is hard to believe.) The Rams offense passes to set up the run after being a play action offense for years under McVay. It reminds me of how the Dolphins were carried on Marino's arm, out of the gun, in the pocket. It is pure joy to know your team has that type of firepower.
I am dying for a SB win out of this team.
