I'm not talking about comparing them as QBs; I'm talking about judging them by the same objective criteria. You even defended Mahomes in your title (although it may have been subconsciously). I just point this out because most people don't know that they are doing it,
Can you say, "Patrick Mahomes has played poorly so far this year?" I'll bet, you can't say that; I'll bet you can find 650 reasons to not have to say that.

It's all relative too. Mahomes playing "poorly" is by his own standards. Goff is just playing poorly for an NFL QB. Mahomes is definitely fighting it right now but a couple of poor games is an anomaly by him. Goff has been playing at this level for almost 3 years now. Mahomes has definitely thrown too many picks but as has always been the case, if that is offset by production, it's somewhat tempered. He's still 3rd in TD passes and completing 67% of his passes. Whereas Goff habitually checks the ball down and rarely throws TD's.
When they do put the game on his shoulders, like with the Rams the last couple of years, he often throws the game away.
