Goff is at his best with elite talent around him. Take any one position away and he falters. He has lost confidence, IMO. He can't process info quickly enough and I think he feels like he can't do it. My guess anyway. When Gurley stopped being effective it really hurt Goff.
He is finding out how good he had it but there was probably little he could have done to keep his job. He simply isn't capable without significant help. Now he has less help and it is magnifying his lack of ability. He said when he left that he was thankful to be going to a place that wanted him... I feel bad for him.
