Wasted pick
not because I think he will someday be a productive kick returner or WR (which he apparently is not) but this team could have used the pick on need areas . And looking at our roster we definetely have a few.
Additional speed rusher.
Linebacker.
Depth at OT and eventual LOT to step in for Wit.
DB.
A team that is hopeful for a SB birth this season Tutu was a luxury pick. And heavens know we dealt away many picks to begin with.
Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When a rookie WR has Kupp, Woods, Van Jefferson and DeSean Jackson on the depth chart in front of him, of course he's going to get lost in the shuffle.
Until we actually see Tutu run some routes and perform in a regular season game, the wasted pick view is "recency bias"
After 5 NFL games he's been underwhelming as a punt returner which was not is strength coming out of Louisville.
Wasted pick = bust and out of the league in 2 or 3 years.
Man, I hope you are right Florida but Dodgerram has a great point IMO and you kind of back it up. As you've mentioned, he has Kupp, Woods, Van Jefferson AND DJax ahead of him. Our WR group was strong before we drafted him so we all kinda knew he wouldn't get much time unless he blew everyone away...and he hasn't. With sooo many other needs (as dodgerram pointed out) combined with the knowledge that Tutu most likely wouldn't play makes it a questionable pick at best.
With Tutu "being underwhelming" as you say just reinforces our doubts about the pick. As I said, if he was a "game changer/have an impact right away" type player I might feel different, but he is not that type player IMO.
Having a good OL, LB or pass rusher would have been a wiser choice IMO. There were some other good options on the board at the time.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
