My wife has been on the fire-Morris wagon and she was bummed O’Connell got offered the Vikings’ job instead of Morris.
But she agreed with me that the Rams’ defense has been lights out during the playoffs and Morris should get credit for that.
There’s some things Morris himself said which self condemn him during the poor defense performances early in the season. I’m thinking of the let the offense make mistakes statements in particular.
But what I think is hidden as far as his talents go is communication. Weddle didn’t come up with the playoff game plan, Morris and maybe even a joint effort by the staff pitched in. But Weddle communicated it with perfection. That might have been missing and probably was missing previously, especially when you look at the scuffle between Rapp and Ramsey. Morris most likely had solid plans that never fully made it out to the field.
