Maybe it's not a curse, per se. Maybe it's simply not feeling good about your appearance. I do that... doubt I'm the only one, but maybe.
When I'm playing music and to be my best, (which, admittedly, isn't very good)... I have to be comfortable, very specific clothing, wear my favorite colored attire, etc etc. Stupid? Probably.. but I can't deny that I play better when everything is just right.
