I think Wolf reads the D and sees the field better, tbh. And he’s no slouch if he has to scramble.

I am intrigued by Perkins and concede that his is probably the higher ceiling one day. But that day is not today.

Incidentally, I was disappointed in that deep Perkins pass to Atwell with triple coverage late in the game. WTF was he thinking?

All good points 43! I think the Wolf might see the field better than Perkins right now too but IMO, if the Wolf OR Perkins would have to play...we would be done. lol

Having said that, the "higher ceiling" is very important. We're not only playing for "this" year. We have to think of the future too. I want a guy who has the best chance of being great. IMO, that is Perkins so far. Maybe if the Wolf played during this preseason he would change my mind but that won't happen because McVay gave him a free pass. He doesn't even have to "prove himself" this year. Would McVay have played him if he wasn't hurt? I would hope so.

So...who has the most to gain from being the number 2? I say those valuable snaps and practice as a number 2 would help Perkins more than the Wolf. Giving them to a QB has shown his "ceiling" (IMO) that is clearly lower than the other is a waste of time.

IMO, neither Wolf or Perkins will be able to be counted on to win for us if we need them to be #1 QB so why not give the reps to the guy who will benefit the most?
