It does seem like Higs was of kind of put between a rock and hard place as an extra blocker to protect Goff.
Tyler wasn't allowed to freelance and be an outlet receiving TE because of his needed blocking assignments over the last 4 plus seasons.
The young Lions TE (TJ Hockenson) became a Stafford favorite and their 2020 O-Line was not as good as the Rams was last season.
Higbee may end up being more of the same with Stafford under center, but I think Staff buys more time and allows Higs to run more freely in the passing game.
