So, NewMexicoRam quoted from the HHS which quote was provided by a large acute and post acute care company
This is very easily demonstrated. What I say is taken from widely available information put out there by every single major medical establishment in the world and is based on research I and others have been continually posting since last May. That's source after source after source. I just quoted the Mayo Clinic.
I have other sources too. My wife is an RN who works with the elderly and she too has access to endless streams of official, established research and medical information.
What I refer to is the medical consensus. The onus on those who do not believe that is to prove it's NOT *the medical consensus*--nationally and internationally. (That would be hard to do because it IS the established medical consensus.)
The key points are these.
N95 masks can protect you from inhaling the virus but those are mostly worn by medical people.
Regular cloth masks do not protect individuals from inhaling the virus.
But regular cloth masks do prevent people from exhaling the water droplets carrying the virus. This has been proven in multiple independent studies of many different kinds.
Mask wearing has to be combined with distancing and sanitizing to be effective.
So you don't wear regular cloth masks to protect yourself, you do it to protect
others. (It's an epidemic, it's not all about just you.)
When people do it as a group (wear masks) it
does cut down on the transmission of the virus. This has been demonstrated over and over.
