Holmes has to say things like this, and it's not that he's being disingenuous. He's only spinning.
But to say Goff got a bad rap in LA is simply not so. Goff got into McVay's doghouse and played his way out of LA. That doesn't mean that Goff is a bad QB. In fact as Demoff said, they simply traded good for better because they had an opportunity that rarely ever comes around.
Goff acting less than mature, moping about and being "poor misunderstood me" isn't helpful. Saying that he wishes he could have stayed but that Detroit is a great opportunity to help take a team into the playoffs, and to thank McVay for making him a better player (whether he meant it or not), is what you do.
He didn't. And it says something about him. My hope is that this young man learned a lot from a tough experience and moves on. But for anyone to make Goff a victim of a senseless act, and McVay and Snead as impulsive perps, is ridiculous.
