There were so few plays to be had for either offense in that game. That late throw to a wide-open Cooks really...REALLY hurt. But like Baldy said...Stafford's mental processing and arm talent could be a crucial difference-maker for McVay's offense.
I find it amazing that people buy this narrative. Not that Stafford will be good, we know that. It's the nature of the difference.
Stafford is a 13 year vet. If he's not better than a 5th year player, then he's useless. He's savvy, and seen and done a lot.
I'll not argue this point as it relates to Stafford.
What I
WILL say, though, is that the two seasons of experience Goff has had post-Super Bowl doesn't appear to have made him any more saavy.
As a matter of fact, I could argue that he's only become more timid and careless over the past two seasons despite being in the same offense he's had success with in the past.
Besides sheer talent, why does it appear as though the experience Stafford has accumulated has made him a better QB while the experience Goff has gained has appeared to make him worse?
