Very valid and I agree. Defend the run better and you get teams into more and longer passing situations. Yes. Same with the Rams' offense- should it improve it will pressure teams to become more one-dimensional to try and keep up. So good points. And I agree Ebukam was not a big loss. But there are still snaps to be made up there.
Good defenses, in my opinion, have at least two pass rushers. The Rams have that in Donald and Floyd. But
elite defenses can get you from just about everywhere and I do question that right now. Hollins and Lewis together had 5 sacks in 2020. I could see that doubling (10). But beyond that? Not so sure. I hope so and if they are fortunate with Lewis' health maybe it's possible.
The Rams just need at least
one more front seven guy to be a pleasant surprise as a pass rusher. SJD is a good player. But he, Gaines and Robinson had 8 QB hits between them last year- less than 1/3 what Fox, Brockers and Ebukam had.
