Well he had a better OL in 2020 than the Rams did, and still got sacked more.
.
On what basis are you saying that he had a better OL in 2020? What are you using to measure that?
Their play. Especially under the circumstances (32nd ranked D which gave them no cushion, and playing from behind a huge amount of the time). There is no "good OL" metric. To assess an OL you have combine a lot of different factors. (For example because of playing from behind they were 30th in rushing attempts.)
Basically, it comes down to Ragnow and Decker being good, solid, consistent linemen. And that's even with their ROG and ROT missing 13 of 32 combined starts.

Ok, so the ol' eyeball test. My problem with that is, most people aren't watching every Detroit Lions play like we do for the Rams. Also, the eyeball is way too subjective. 10 sets of eyeballs will come up with 10 differing grades.
While I agree there is no one good, completely sufficient OL metric, there are many OL metrics that, when taken together as a whole, provide a good picture. Funny thing is, in 2019 this was your position too. You cited many OL metrics in support of your arguments that the OL wasn't good. You were not so dismissive of them then but now suddenly you are. Very interesting!
There is no OL metric that states the Detroit Lions had a better OL than the 2020 Rams OL. If you look at every single metric they were worse in all of them. So I'm going to have to disagree that they were a better OL. I'm sure neither of us will change each other's mind so I'm fine with agreeing to disagree.
