Um, the part bolded above is verifiably false! Holmes has said they were looking to move Stafford quickly. It was his first task. And there were two other teams that were very near trading for Stafford before the Rams swooped in with an offer that blew them away.

Google it. There are reports on this stuff.

I was disputing that they could have had their choice between Stafford or Rodgers as you stated. That's verifiably false. Since Stafford was going to be traded that week no matter what the Rams did, he would no longer have been an option.

If the Rams declined to trade for Stafford their only option would have been to hold onto Goff in hopes that Rodgers became available. Given that they had already made an offer for Rodgers and were soundly rejected, that seems like a silly plan to me.
