You can trade a player and not act the way these two did.....if you didn't know better, you'd swear it was to cover for their own embarrassment...

I agree. And some people are misreading this by assuming that what's being criticized is the act of trading him. Well. No. I mean maybe some are, but it's not all of us--mainly, what's being said here is that the issue is how they handled talking about his status with the team before trading him.
Goff was finding out that he was not considered the starter through public statements--no one sat him down before those public statements to say, this is how it is. And that's with playing well in the post season with a broken thumb.
On top of it, when Snead was asked about the "right now" comment, he got goofy with it and made jokes about it. He forgot himself. You don't act like that over an issue like that.
It's those
actions that are being criticized.
