I guess that's why Rockram took offense to you straightening him out. It sounds like you were making a very minor correction but agreeing with his larger point.

Why would someone "take offense" at that? Lol. Why would you come to their "rescue" as if something bad had happened? I mean tell me you don't show up to "correct" people. It's one of your signature things to do. And besides your formula there is reversible. If RR sees it as being disagreed with on a minor point and then otherwise agreed with, why the personal attack style meltdown? Just see it as being mostly agreed with. Shrug.

So yeah I don;t agree that it makes sense to restructure him on a 2 year, you just end up making 2022 much worse. That's just simple math. I am not so sure why saying that would cause someone to "take offense" (ie. to lose it and get personal) or why it would cause you to jump in like this needed white knight fighting evil (though you're actually just siding with a guy who over-reacted--there's no actual real principle at stake). You both over-reacted.

My bet is, if they adjust Stafford's 2021 cap hit it will be one of two ways. They will extend him with a contract that puts money in future years and lowers the 2021 cap hit. Or they will extend him by having him agree to adding voidable years or one more voidable year (which he apparently also has to agree to, too). If it's the voidable years thing then they can turn 2021 money into a pro-rated bonus, which subtracts up to 15 M from this year and adds 5 M to the 3 remaining years (if it's 4 years total and not say 5).

All of that could be said, and debated (in low key, civil ways) without melo-dramatizing it.
