Jadeveon Clowney predicted to sign with Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams have never been afraid to go after a player they want. They did it for Jalen Ramsey and did it again this offseason. They were able to land quarterback Matthew Stafford in a blockbuster deal with the Detroit Lions. Could they do it again by signing Jadeveon Clowney in free agency?
While it has cost them tons of draft picks to do so, they have still fielded a competitive team each season Sean McVay has been head coach, winning at least seven games each season and making the postseason three times. His second season at the helm resulted in a Super Bowl appearance.
A big reason for that success has been the Rams’ ability to fill in the holes that first-round picks normally would fill. They have hit on a lot of low-cost moves, such as acquiring Dante Fowler via trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars and Leonard Floyd in free agency after he flamed out with the Chicago Bears.
Both players had strong seasons with the Rams, as Fowler recorded 11.5 sacks in his lone full season in Los Angeles and Floyd recorded 10.5 in his first season there. Fowler has 17 sacks in 53 games with other teams, while Floyd had 18.5 in 54 games with the Bears.
Whatever it is that the Rams are doing, it is working. Could they look to add another reclamation project of sorts this offseason in Clowney?
The prescription-based, The Athletic, predicts that Clowney will land with the Rams in free agency this year. Clowney is coming off of an injury-plagued season with the Tennessee Titans in which he appeared in only eight games, registering zero sacks.
While the pass-rushing numbers haven’t been there for Jadeveon Clowney at times in his career, as he is yet to have a double-digit sack season, he is still phenomenal as a run defender. Playing alongside someone such as Aaron Donald, who commands double and triple teams every snap, could open things up for Clowney on the outside.
