I understand your point. I hadn't considered the effects of the deviation in evaluations. I appreciate the new angle.
It still doesn't feel like there will be an opening for a day one starter at many positions.
I have center, edge, and ILB as the potential positions.
How do you feel about this edge class? I'm not that high on it and am skeptical that many of them would start ahead of Lewis, Hollins, Rivers, and Obo. I think Tryon would start and maybe Ossai.
At center, there looks to be some day one starting talent but would McVay trust a rookie center? I strongly suspect they'll bring in a vet to start at that position and draft a rookie to develop.
That leaves ILB. If there is going to be a day one starter it's probably going to have to be there. But I also wonder if they don't bring in a cheap vet at that spot too for the purpose of calling the defense. They're already losing JJ who called the defense which means the safety room and LBs are very young now. If you put in a day one starter it just gets younger with no one experienced in orchestrating the defense.
