On your point then, I've been leaning towards yes on more 1-year deals. I think there will be a glut of cuts and mid-level free agents may not have much of a market. The supply may significantly outweigh demand this year. The top tier free agents will probably be fine but even they may have to take less. Because of high supply teams will likely be trying to sign players for shorter contracts. So I think there will be players that find employment wherever they can, sign undervalued 1-year deals, and try again next year in hopes that the salary cap jumps back up.

But I can see your side in that multi-year deals are generally easier to make work. And I don't think teams really want to add these void years all the time. The Rams have typically never done this. I guess this is what all-in looks like.
