His name was mentioned for the OC job with the Vikings, but they went elsewhere. Recently he made comments about wanting to get into broadcasting and took some shots at Tony Romo.
But it may be a matter of McVay not wanting too many cooks in the kitchen, or potentially undermining O'Connell.

Then again, they haven't announced any coaching position hires so maybe they're working out contract and duties logistics.
