Would the Vikes really trade Cousins?

February 13, 2021 02:45AM
I have a hard time seeing the Vikings trading Cousins. If they did, I imagine it would have to be for a very high pick (top 3 perhaps) to get one of the top 2 QBs coming out. Otherwise their QB for next year is.....who? Darnold? Cam Newton? Trubisky? Andy Dalton?

That said, it is within the realm of possibility that the Niners could give up a 1st and a 2nd and Garrapolo because then the Vikes would not only have the ammo to move up, but also have an experienced NFL player to run the offense. Similar to the Rams/Lions trade except that Cousins isn't the player Stafford is. But he is better than Jimmy G.

But are the Vikes really read to take a step back in hopes of stepping up in the future?

Houston simply can't trade Watson; they'd have a fan revolt
