If I read things correctly online a few days ago, the dead money for him leaving the team this year is more dead money than any other player in the NFL. It's like $40M or something.
It's a shame, but the NFL is slowly turning into the NBA where the players have been allowed to push management selections, coaching selections, personnel, choices and where they insist to play. And.. of course huge contracts.
The NFL teams are going to have to draw a line somewhere. Used to see players fined for speaking publicly in a manner that was detrimental to the team or organization. You don't see that a lot. The millionaires are running the billionaires but they complain it's the other way around.
All that said... If there's an NFL player or 2 that I would involve, lightly, in some of these decisions, it would be Brady and Wilson.
