How do you feel about the fans that didn't dump on him but think he was not stepping up to the plate, saw in their eyes a guy who didn't seem to acclimate himself to pressure situations (holding it too long, or heaving into enemy hands). How about those very fans who also would talk about his good games/passes, but say WTF on his other stuff. What about the fans who always get slammed as dumping when they are just saying how they feel and pointing to actions that lead to those feelings?
I personally just had no idea what to expect from him in these last 2 seasons...I really didn't have a feel for 1 drive to the next....Start a game with a great drive, go the rest of the half with punt, punt punt at best or worse with a turnover or 2.....To me that's not dumping on him, unless questioning his inability to move, energize the team in needed times is dumping.
I pulled for him every game, I wanted him to deliver. In 2017/18 he did....the next 2 no where near that play from him. With those 2 years I was expecting him to continue to rise in ability.....he didn't he still has issues that a rookie has. He is IMO an enigma...he has all the seeming boxes checked, but missing some crucial things needed to continue a rise...like he has hit his ceiling...is that dumping on him?
I am not cheering him out of LA....it would have been much better if he rose....he didn't.... gotta to try another direction...Hard worker, competitive, team guy, good enough to make it as a starter in the NFL (only 32 of them)...but in the ranks of those 32 we simply need more then he's showing....looks like he has hit his wall IMO......That's not dumping IMO.
