The big question is can Stafford be a winner with the Rams under McVay.
I haven't watched a ton of Lions games, but the times I did I found Stafford underwhelming. I do remember the game against the Rams in 2018 when the Lions D gave Goff fits, and Gurley bailed him out. But Stafford looked pretty pedestrian to me in that game. I mean, he was ok, but I never said wow, this guy is really good. Maybe it was the coaching, maybe it was the talent around him, I just don't know, but it's still an open question for me.
McVay is convinced he can win the SB with Stafford, thats why he pushed for him, thats why, according to Peter King, McVay called Kroenke and said he wanted to make the deal. McVay's neck is on the line here, so I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. I don't know myself if Stafford is gonna get us there, but I believe in McVay until he shows me otherwise. McVay is under a ton of pressure to make this work.
