Our O-line got pushed around in that game - it's arguably worse, personnel-wise than that 2018 team. The center of our offense that year - Gurley - had a bad wheel and was ineffective. So our all-in just wasn't good enough. Not sure we're one player away from hoisting the lombardi.
Seems like your focus is mostly on offense, not the whole team.
Defense is much better. The 2018 D was very solid. Last year's was elite. We'll lose some players but we still have the two game wreckers the D was built on.
IMO, the effect of going from an average QB to a way above average one would make a humongous difference. Kind of like the difference on defense in going from a good CB in Peters to a #1 defense with Ramsey. We would see that effect and probably more by upgrading to Watson since QB is the most important position on the field.
Other thing to keep in mind, I believe the Rams are looking to contend for Super Bowls every year. If you have two elite players on D and an elite QB, the foundation is in place to do that.
