We tried the big splash, all chips in thing before and it got us to the big game, but not over the top. The last 2 years has kind of been trying to recover from the draft pick and contract splurge. Not sure I want us to go down that road again.

We didn't get over the top because our scheme, QB, and OL were exposed.
McVay has made adjustments to the scheme. The OL is decent now but needs continued investment. But the biggest move of significantly upgrading the QB likely puts us over the top.
The window is the next 3 years with Donald and Ramsey teamed up on defense. They need to strike now.
