McVay doesn't want a "not terrible" QB.

I think at least one of the issues McVay and Snead are reckoning with is whether this Goff is as good as it's gonna get for him. And if he might be good enough by adding some pieces to get this team over the hump and a Superbowl Championship.

On the surface it looks like the answer is no.

Snead and McVay naturally swing for the fences. It's who they are. But you can't hit home runs if you swing too light of a bat.
