For a LOT less pay. Like I said, average pay in the NFL will set someone for life. You could even add....say....a 2 million signing bonus to every player. That 2 million guaranteed if they play 2 months or 10 years. Like I said, a LOT more than a guy who works for 30-50 years and is almost guaranteed bad knees.
I know this has been a beat to death topic. The $$$$$$ involved in Pro sports is getting out of hand. Sure owners are Billionaires. I say bring back simplicity....Stadiums that are not disposable BILLION + palaces. Make these Billionaires foot the bills that a LOT of tax dollars are footing. There's nothing wrong with making money but it HAS become quite a gluttonous business. Also, I honestly have NO idea how a family of four can regularly attend football games. I take my two boys to a game every other year or so. In a BIG TIME blue moon, my Wife and her two boys have gone. In all cases, it is like planning a vacation. It takes financial / logistical considerations to go to one game.....And I almost NEVER buy food at a game. Maybe a few sodas.
It HAS to be a threat because I simply do not hear people talking about football the way I used to. Sure!! WE do all the time. We are football freaks. But I have seen many casual fans walk away.
