I think it's going to take Goff + 3 #1's. Are you willing to pay that price?
I disagree, dz. Watson won’t cost nearly that much IF he wants to come here.
Watson has Texans by the short hairs, know what I mean? They will surely cave to a lesser offer if Watson insists.
We'll see. He does have good leverage with the no-trade clause.
But we don't know that he wants LA for sure. It's been reported that MIA was his first choice. And I got that price tag from reports on what NFL league insiders are saying it will take.
If Ramsey and Adams cost 2 #1s, won't a QB, who many feel is a generational talent, cost more?
Two things.
You are most definitely correct that Watson’s ultimate preferred destination may be other than LA.
Determining Watson’s trade value is VERY subjective. There’s the trade clause factor and I think that’s huge. This won’t be a free market negotiation. Also, Goff has inherent value, too. Some would say worth a 1st all by himself. Maybe directly to Texans, maybe to a 3rd party team. And, while Watson is a promising young QB, does he really have the status at QB that a Ramsey had at CB? I’m not so sure about that. We are not talking about Manning or Brady in their primes here.
I think Watson could be traded by Rams to Texans, given the trade clause, for Goff plus a 1st in ‘22, a 3rd in ‘21, plus a conditional pick in either ‘22 or ‘23.
What do you think about them apples?
We shall see. I hope we can get him with that price tag. That's a no brainer.
I have Goff's value somewhere around 2 #2s - one in 2021 another in 2022. Maybe someone gives us a 1st but due to his salary I'm skeptical on that.
