Yeah, this news is definitely worth a Hot Damn, although Very difficult challenges remain, cap-wise.
But it does have a whiff of being orchestrated by Watson and his agent, hopefully with no tampering collusion on the Rams part.
I’ll say it again.
If Watson insists on a trade then he’s gonna be traded. Period.
Since he has that trade approval clause in his contract, he will be traded to a team/opportunity of his choosing. What team presents a more attractive total package for a young and talented QB than the Rams?

As to my questioning whether Watson is a diva? I dunno. I will say that a lot of players wanting out of Jacksonville were called divas but haven’t been so with their new teams. IOW, the Jags were the real problem all along. Texans might have a similar problem. So I’m gonna keep my powder dry on that subject until Watson proves himself one or the other.
A part of me doesn’t want to have to pay the price that Watson might require. But a part of me would love to see McVay matched up with an elite young QB. Maybe a Martz/Warner type redux? Goodness.
