At this point in his career Woods is nothing more than a possession receiver. He doesn't run deep routes (or they don't throw to him) he doesn't make too many people miss on sweeps, end around and tunnel screens. Jefferson seems like a solid pass catcher but I don't recall him breaking any big plays this year. I mean look at what Brady has in Tampa or Mahomes in KC, or even the Packers. This is where the bar is set now and we are not there yet.

If we get the right QB and can once again open up the entire playbook, then our WR trio is plenty good enough given the way McVay can scheme them.
I think that this is a big part of what’s frustrating McVay about Goff. Goff is currently not even half the QB he was as recently as 2 years ago.
