Me too.
I'm good with however McVay decides to go.
There seems to be at least 3 issues here.
How healthy are these 2 QBs.
How does the GB weather affect both of them.
Which one does McVay feel gives him the best chance to win.
The reports out there of a McVay/Goff rift are very curious. Clearly, those 2 are not on the best of terms at the moment. Who knows how that plays into McVay's decision.
This is probably the last game of the season for us. If Goff doesn't play in it, the questions on Goffs future will be flying all over Rams Nation for the entire off season.
I can assure you that questions on Goff's future will be flying all over Rams Nation for the entire off season whether he plays or not if the Rams lose. Only way that doesn't happen is if he plays, he does very well, we win and get to the SB.
IMO, the McVay/Goff rift could easily enter into McVay's decision making.
Let's assume that McVay feels that Wolford gives him a slightly better chance at winning this next game. Let's also assume that McVay/Snead/Demoff haven't made a decision that Goff is not the long term starter but would evaluate that in the off season. Given the rift and the reported feelings of unhappiness - or frustration, lack of confidence, dissatisfaction, not seeing things the same, choose the word you want to use - if McVay starts Wolford when Goff feels he can play, it could damage the future relationship. Maybe not irreparable damage but damage nonetheless. It possibly could be signaling that he's not the long term starter before they arrive at that decision.
I could easily see McVay saying my gut tells me Wolford gives us a slightly better chance of winning but I also don't want to further damage this relationship with my starter. In my mind, if Wolford starts, McVay feels he gives us a much better chance of winning, not just a minimally better chance.
