I was impressed by him playing with that thumb. And not only that but being the guy who survived that game with the win. The fact he got through it without further injury since it wouldn't take much to hurt that thing more.

But in his actual performance yeah he just doesn't look like himself to me. And I don't have the energy to convince myself that the gutty nature of it excuses the overall look of some things.

I will say this... I would not be surprised if there is some sort of rift going on right now with McVay and Goff. Because way I look at it McVay has extremely high standards. Goff has not played well this season. They are on the cusp of deep playoffs with a great defense and what could be a very potent run game. McVay can smell the ticker tape IMO. It just would not surprise me if that comes out later, like after the season or maybe even if a trade is made.

I think people are making more of it than it really is.... Jackie said it tonight on the post game show when Vince said he thought it was wrong for him to start Wolford when he said people seem to forget Goff just had three pins placed in his thumb less than two weeks ago and that it was the right call to start Wolford and use Goff only in case of an emergency while you let him heal up for next week...he said McVay didn't want to risk his $30m QB risking further injury to a very important part of your franchise QB


You could see Goff was bothered by it all day as he constantly had it in his hand warmer every chance he got , but I think he just gained more respect from his teammates by gutting it out and helped getting us that big win.....

Just as people said they'd be shocked if Goff played this week, I'd say the same thing about Wolford next week considering they actually took the dude to the hospital for a neck injury


I just hope that kind of hit doesn't effect how he plays going forward, but I wouldn't be shocked if it did
